Throughout his studies, Zhang Chi received guidance from many internationally acclaimed pianists, including Max Cooke (Australia), Ye Hui Fang (China), Roy Howat (Scotland), Andrea Bonatta (Italy), Rolf Plagge (Austria), Kurt Bauer (Germany), and Victor Khor (Singapore).
Zhang Chi has remained highly active as a performer. He has toured extensively, performing in numerous countries across Europe and Asia, including France (Paris), Austria (Salzburg, Vienna), Germany (Freiburg), Italy (Bolzano), China (Shenzhen, Gaoming, Hong Kong, Nanjing), Thailand (Bangkok), Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Penang), and Australia (Melbourne). He also gave masterclasses in Taizhou, China.
In 2019, he was invited to New York to record on the prestigious Steinway Spirio piano, and in 2020, he was officially named a Steinway Artist.
Currently based in Penang, Malaysia, Zhang Chi is active as a pianist, accompanist, and educator. He frequently collaborates with internationally renowned musicians, local Malaysian artists, and orchestras. His students have achieved outstanding success, winning numerous prizes in both national and international piano competitions. In recognition of his contributions to music and education, he has also been awarded the title of Steinway Honorary Teacher.
