Tay Cher Siang | Jazz Pianist

Tay Cher Siang began his music journey with classical piano before discovering jazz in his teens. He earned a Master’s in Jazz Pedagogy under Dr. Miltenberger and Professor Scea.

Dedicated to jazz education in Malaysia and Asia, Tay has taught at UCSI, UM, UPM, Yamaha Music Academy, and his private studio, while also giving masterclasses and clinics throughout the region.

As a pianist and composer, Tay has toured extensively with WVC – Malaysian Jazz Ensemble and multinational band Unit Asia, performing in over 15 countries including the USA, Japan, China, India, and several European nations. He has released 10 albums of original music and produced over 30 albums for regional artists.

Tay won three Kaki Seni-Cameronian Arts Awards in 2016, and in 2020 received the Best Original Composition award for his Shakespeare and Jazz concert production. He also gave a TEDx talk and performance at TEDx Petaling Street in 2018.

He is a sought-after music director and arranger for prominent Malaysian acts, and has composed for films, musicals, and theatre. He and his band appeared in Crazy Rich Asians.

Tay currently chairs the Malaysian Jazz Piano Festival, writes a bi-weekly jazz column for China Press and Sin Chew Daily, and hosts a weekly jazz show on City Plus FM.

郑泽相是马来西亚音乐家，于美国West Virginia University 毕业，师从Dr. James Miltenberger 和Professor Paul Scea, 主修爵士音乐教学法。

2007 年回到马来西亚，从事爵士音乐教育至今，过去任职于UPM, UM, UCSI, Yamaha Music Academy 等，拥有自己的音乐教室传授爵士音乐。他也时常到东南亚和亚洲国家授课。

郑泽相活跃在马来西亚和亚洲区域的音乐舞台：曾经在各个爵士音乐节演出。他参与的Unit Asia 曾经巡回许多国家：印尼，文莱，泰国，菲律宾，越南，日本，埃及，印度，土耳其，德国，意大利，西班牙。他自己组成的乐队WVC Malaysian Jazz Ensemble 则专攻马来西亚和东南亚，以及中国地区，曾经巡回到这个区域的各大城市演出。他也参与制作，编曲，作曲多位歌唱家的专辑。在WVC 名下，他们已经出版了八张专辑。

与国内外的多位歌手合作，也已经出版了四十多张专辑，担任制作，作曲，编曲，音乐总监，钢琴家。

2016年和2020年郑泽相荣获三项马来西亚重要的艺术奖：Boh Kaki Seni Cameronian Arts Awards，最佳独奏，最佳合奏，以及最佳原创作品奖。

郑泽相也参与电影原声音乐的制作，音乐剧的音乐制作（与汉制作：姚莉玫瑰传奇，玄奘，地藏；以及纪录片Dhammayatra。与摩登南洋：Kopi Susu 1 &2。椰楼电影：新村）以及许多音乐会的音乐制作。
