Mr. Simon Soh is a teacher, pianist, accompanist, author, piano clinician, adjudicator, and editor.
He is the Director and Principal of Sinfonia Music Studio in Singapore, which he founded in 2003. Since 2008, he has served as a consultant for Forte Academy of Music in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Recently, he was appointed Principal of Emmanuel Music School in Bedok, where his primary responsibilities include training teachers in pedagogy and organizing music activities across all schools under one umbrella.
As a performer, he was invited to play with the Singapore Wind Symphony in 1995. In the 1990s, he also served as the accompanist for the Afterglow Singers in the Philippines and recorded several collaborative CDs.
As a pedagogue, Simon is a sought-after teacher and speaker in Singapore, Malaysia, and China. He regularly conducts music workshops, masterclasses, and seminars in both Singapore and Malaysia.
Over his thirty-year teaching career, he has nurtured many outstanding students who have gone on to become teachers or music authors in Singapore and Malaysia. Many of his students have achieved high distinctions in ABRSM and Trinity College exams, with several winning awards at international piano competitions.
As an adjudicator, Simon is frequently invited to judge local and overseas piano competitions and festivals. He is the author of Progressive Sight Reading, and the editor of A Comprehensive Guide to Music Theory by Sean Teo and Toh Xin Zhan. He is currently writing a new book titled The Art of Fingering.
Most recently, Simon Soh was appointed as a tutor for the Bachelor of Music Online Degree Program by the Australian Guild of Music Education.
