Award-winning Malaysian pianist Mei Lin Hii enjoys an international career spanning the United States, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Recognised as Outstanding Woman Pianist following her Rubinstein Award in New York, she is a top prizewinner at major international competitions and made her debut at Carnegie Hall.

Mei Lin studied at the Manhattan School of Music under the distinguished pedagogue Zenon Fishbein. Her artistic development was further shaped through masterclasses with Leon Fleisher, Byron Janis, and Joseph Kalichstein, as well as through her work with Russian pianist Alexis Golovine in Geneva.

A dedicated chamber musician, she has received coaching from members of the Juilliard String Quartet and the Beaux Arts Trio, and has collaborated with artists from the Metropolitan Opera alongside leading musicians from a wide range of disciplines. Her collaborators include Joja Wendt, Martin Tingvall, Caroline Fischer, Axel Zwingenberger, Leslie Tan, Matyas Major, Ergys Koni, William Day, Elizabeth Tan, among many others.

Invited personally by Paolo Fazioli, Mei Lin recorded Bach’s Goldberg Variations at the Fazioli Concert Hall in Italy, a project that reflects her longstanding artistic relationship with one of the world’s most respected piano makers.

Since returning to Kuala Lumpur in 2010, Mei Lin has become known for creating performances that bring music into conversation with other art forms. Her collaborations have included visual artists, paper artists, and hip-hop dancers, while projects such as Sonus Luminus, created with lighting designer Jun Ong, explore the intersection of light and sound. She also curates the Troika Sky Dining Real Food and Music Series, working with luxury brands including Dom Pérignon, Hennessy, and Krug.

Beyond the concert stage, Mei Lin serves as Artistic Advisor to the Illy Piano Academy and is a guest artist and coach at the International School of Kuala Lumpur. In 2024, she was featured in Women of Power by Prestige Malaysia.
